Why is my water cooler not dispensing water?
A common reason for your water cooler to not be dispensing water, which sounds simple, is that the unit may simply not have power. If your water cooler has solenoids, then first try checking if the plug for the water cooler is plugged in and turned on at the socket. It sounds simple but it may save you money for a callout, along with saving time! If your unit still does not work after checking the necessary power supply, then check if the fuse in your 3 pin plug has blown.
Secondly, your water tank may be frozen. Water tanks can freeze in as little time as overnight since its a long period of time in which it hasn’t been used. If you suspect your water tank is frozen, then leave your cooler unplugged overnight to ensure you provide it the proper time to allow the ice to melt. If you’re aware that your unit is gravity-fed, you can check if your tank is frozen by removing the top of your cooler and and the lid for the fill tank, it should be pretty obvious when a big chunk of ice is blocking the dispense. Be careful not to touch and contaminate the inside of the tank!
If you suddenly notice that your cooler has stopped working, when it was fine even a day or hour before – the issue may be simpler than you think. The internal piping in the water cooler could be kinked, this can happen if a filter housing slips or from moving your cooler.
My water cooler is slowly dispensing water?
A reason your water cooler may be slowly dispensing water is that you are overdue a filter change. Filters are recommended to be changed every sixth months to ensure freshness of water and general use. When a change is overdue, the filter may be containing too many contaminants which could be slowing down your supply of water, as it has to work harder to bypass the filter.
